Twist-out Product Review: Flora & Curl

So as I’ve mentioned before the twist-out is my go-to style, and although I’ve mastered just how I like my imperfect twist-out, I am constantly on the hunt for the different products. As we all know, a twist-out can be judged, and vary greatly based on the curl definition, volume, length and softness. There are all sorts of products that I use to achieve this look – chopping and changing to suit my fancy. I recently received my Flora & Curl Twisting Duo, which consists of the Jasmine Oasis Floral Hydration Hair Mist and the Flower Garden Hair Butter Concentrate. I am so impressed with the results I thought I would dedicate a review solely to what I love about these products.

The Flora & Curl twist-out Duo, the secret to perfectly moisturised curls.

The “Jasmine Oasis Floral Hydration Hair Mist”

The first thing that captured me about this product was that it contained Jasmine in the title — now from my perfumes to my Green Tea, Jasmine is something that I am absolutely in love with. What held my attention was the beautiful scent that was dispensed; a combination of rose, jasmine and aromatherapeutic oils fills the air. I’ve been on the hunt for a sweet-smelling hair mist for a while, especially as I am always harping on about how moisture is imperative for happy curls.

The other thing that I appreciated (which may sound pedantic and fussy), is the even and light distribution of the spray. I find that there is nothing worse than perfectly maintaining day 2 and day 3 and then ruining it by completely drenching it in water because the nozzle on your spray bottle is too loose. The Flora & Curl Hair Mist gives complete control, and you are able to decide exactly how much you need.

Last but definitely not least, as if it could get any better — the product itself is full of lush nutrients, such as Rose Water, Honey, Vegetable Glycerin and Aloe Vera. So along with water being its first ingredient, it is packed with a variety of humectants to bring even more moisture to your curls. I have found in the weeks that I have been using this my hair is retaining even more moisture than usual, which is great because of the harsh bitter British winter that we are facing at the moment.

The “Flower Garden Hair Butter Concentrate”

The butter has a delightful creamy consistency, that is perfect for a twist-out because it is thick enough to hold itself as the styling product. Yet, at the same time, it melts effortlessly when it meets contact with my hair.

I feel that the ingredients of the product keep my hair soft and sweet. Some days because of this harmonious balance there is no need to add an extra oil to seal, it would simply be too much product. My hair adores the combination of Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, Rose and Vitamin E. The product is packed with natural oil and no water, so a little goes a long way, so there is no need to pile the product on.

Again, the scent of this product made me completely fall in love with it — is compliments the mist so well and it is added the bonus that there are no added artificial fragrances.
